18th century Louis XV white marble mantel (Reference 1216)
Because of the large scale this Louis XV mantel is rare for the 18th century. Delicately curved, it offers sober lines and subtle sculpted ornaments. The center of the entablature is decorated with a palm leaf inlayed in a discreet shield motif. Flower garlands hang from the scrolled tops of the jambs, which are decorated with carved out panels.
The marble of this mantel is a beautiful white lightly veined with black. This thin veins are few but give life and texture to the surface.
