Antique Gilded mirror with putti and mask of woman - overmantels and mirrors

Description

Mirror with gilded and carved wood frame. Imbricated bay leaves run up the sides of the mirror to the center of the flat arched top. The panel above displays lush sculpture. At the center, a cartouche bearing a female mask, is supported by a pair of winged putti. Three festoons of flowers complete this motif, curving slightly down over the mirror, while two lattice work panels fill the space beside the putti. The top corners are recessed, allowing for a curling acanthus leaf.
