This beautiful period Louis XV mantel made with a very elegant combination of walnut and beech wood. The shape remains sober, similar to the Louis XIV style, but the subtly curved entablature is typical of the Louis XV style. The entablature is adorned with a central motif of a shell from which stylized foliage emerge. Both ends are decorated with delicate branches. The jambs rise to a slight curve and are carved with molded panels garnished with a band of imbricated leaves.
The shelf and sides are beechwood.
