This antique Louis XVI period fireplace was made in the 18th century in Red from the North marble and Carrara Statuary marble whose inlays, which give some relief, were used to carve the ornaments. The frieze and the naturalistic rosettes adorning the mantel and the small asparagus heads in the flutes of the jambs have been carved in Statuary marble. This repertoire of motifs, inspired by nature, and the straight lines of this fireplace, are characteristic of the Louis XVI style.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert but could be made to order. The original marbre floor is broken but could be restored in our workshop.
