Mantels with detached columns are relatively rare. These tapered columns add a very unexpected touch to this period Louis XVI style mantel. They are fluted with fillets at the bottom and rise up to capitals adorned with stylized foliage. The heads are garnished with rosettes, and the entablature is very simply decorated, in a way that is typical of the Louis XVI style, with a fine line of pearls.
