This exceptional antique Regence style fireplace was made out of carved oak in the late 19th century. The lower part of the fireplace takes the famous model of the fireplace that adorns the Hercules Salon in the Versailles Palace. The center of the frieze is ornated by a Hercules' head wearing the skin of the Nemean lion, carved in very high relief. On both sides are represented two cornucopias with realistics flowers and fruits.
The upper part of the fireplace forms an overmantel pier which can be filled with a painting or a mirror. Crowned by a semicircular arch, this pier is finely decorated with cartridges, foliage, flowers and friezes.
