Carved gilded wood Trumeau in the Louis XVI style from the 19th century. The frame design is a succession of moldings one frieze alternating three pearls and a wheat husk motif and the other of hearts-and-darts. A wreath of flowers and laurel leaves crowns the frame. A few laurel branches surround an “au naturel” floral composition of roses, narcissus and peonies. The decorative elements of this mantel are characteristic of the Louis XVI style in its sensitivity and love of Nature.
