Carved in Royal Red Belgium marble, this mantel dates from the 18th century and comes from Belgium. Its curved lines and lush decor are characteristic of the Louis XV style. An upside down shell flanked by floral ornaments adorns the center of the entablature. Like the mantel, the cast iron insert is garnished with interlacing foliage, creating a particularly rich composition.
This mantel is part of a Liègeois style paneled room – characteristic of the city of Liège in Belgium, which is available on this site as item #1531 and cannot be sold separately.
