Elegant Louis XVI style mantel in Breche Violette marble from the 19th century. The fluted sculpted pilaster jambs rise up to heads with square acanthus leaf rosettes. The entablature is adorned with a frieze delicately decorated with volutes of flowers and pomegranates that stretch symmetrically across and is set in a molded frame. The classical ornamentation of the Louis XVI style is perfectly adapted to the beauty of Breche Violette marble with its crystal violet, green and gray elements speckling the mantel giving it an almost organic feel.
