Beautiful Louis XVI style mantel from the very early 19th century in white marble adorned with a light and joyful sculpture depicting the festive theme of the harvest. Finely carved lush grape branches curl across the entablature, while the central ornament combines drum and fife, a hat with a feather and a cornucopia symbol of abundance. Finely carved vases holding three ears of wheat - a symbol of fertility - support heads with carved square cartouches of grapes that echo the theme of the entablature.
