Usually canted, the Pompadour mantel, a Louis XV style model, presents a slightly curved entablature and shelf. The jambs are like long consoles rising to scrolled heads. An oval panel is placed at the center of the entablature flanked by rectangular ones - this is a very common trait of the Pompadour mantel. Here, the dark Marquina marble brings a strong original touch to this beautiful piece.
