Description

Very elegant Régence style Sarrancolin marble mantel. Mantle in the "Bolection" style inherited from Louis XIV, with a large rounded molding that runs along the hearth opening and spandrels that stretch towards the middle of the entablature to either side of an oval centerpiece. The canted jambs create a sense of movement: the scrolled heads rise above filleted fluted jambs topped by panels. They are slightly curved and highlighted with moldings.
The beautiful marble with regular delicate veins is known as Sarrancolin

Additional information

With original cast iron insert, with arabesques and a putti on a lattice pattern backdrop. No marble front hearth.
