This cast iron fireback was made in the second part of the 19th century.
It depicted a victoriou soldier with its flag standing above two corpses.
This soldier seems to belong to the Second Empire French army, which served under the reign of Napoleon III, since his flag has a French Imperial Eagle at the end.
