The design of this Louis XVI style mantel carved in Carrara marble, follows the classic Capucine model of two straight jambs, rising from plinth to capital, supporting a plain entablature. The jambs are adorned with fluting, the heads with a square rosette of a flower bud surrounded by leaves. Intermingled laurel branches run across the frieze, tied by a bow to a quiver full of arrows.
