Description
Trumeau for a fireplace mantel that presents a rich ornamentation of carved and gilded wood in the Louis XVI style from the 19th century. The molding of the frame is decorated with a frieze of ribbons crisscrossing oblong rosettes and a string of pearls. The very architectural pediment, with a trophy shaped center piece features the face of a young woman her long braided hair set in a chignon. Hanging garlands of flowers, egg-and-dart and dentil motifs complete the Antiquity style composition.
