Oak mantel and over mantel from the 19th century (Reference 1198)
On hold
This chimney piece of Neo-Renaissance inspiration is composed of a mantel and a large overmantel, both in oak. The mantel is framed by two sheathed pilaster jambs and an entablature with a frieze. Two fluted modillions support the mantel shelf.
The overmantel rises up following a very architectural structure: two double fluted pilasters surround a large central medallion. Carved in high-relief, this square medallions features a series of Neo-Renaissance decorative motifs: grotesques, geometrical figures with egg and dart friezes, stylized foliage. The pilasters support an entablature and a cornice, embellished with little modillions.
