Pair of Louis XIV period brackets (Reference 9391)
Get the Flash Player to see this video From the second half of Louis XIVth reign, this pair of brackets are beautifully balanced. A broad curve rises up from the vertical post to the horizontal one. A motif called “pig’s tail” at the center and a few light volutes complete the harmonious composition.
Very rare to find such a pair from that period.
Origin : Very early 18th century.
