Rare shape for this 18th Century fireplace mantel in "Rouge royal" marble. The sides are the original 18th century ones.
Origin : 18th century, Chateau of the Baron Empain in Belgium.

Additional information
Royal red marble comes from quarries in Haumont in Belgium. A very popular marble used in furniture and decoration. A very fine pinkish to beige cement with white flames and fragments of shells.
Condition :
The two corners against the wall were damaged during dismantling, thus the mantel shelf has been restored.
