Marie Leczinska fireback (Reference 9397)
This arched fireback from the 18th century is adorned with a portrait representing Marie Leczinska, queen of France, wife of Louis XV, inspired by a portrait of her done by Louis Tocqué and exhibited in the Louvre.
The queen dressed in court clothes stands holding her royal crown by her side. She is set in decor of curtains, plants, and fleur de lys. Such decors were often used as frames for Royal portraits.
