Marble Corton stone mantel (Reference 1278)
19th century Louis XV style mantel with very refined decor. The canted jambs adorned with panel motifs rise up to asymmetrical foliage with a touch of Rococo. At the middle of the entablature a shell is framed with volutes.
The pink stone used here is called Corton and looks very similar to marble.
Origin
18th century
