Louis XVI style mantel with rosettes (Reference 1283)
Unusual white marble mantel with a mix of Louis XVI style and earlier, more classical, motifs.
The entablature, flanked by a pair of square elaborately carved acanthus leaf square rosettes, is adorned with a central round rosette and embellished with moldings. The fluted console jambs are thinner at the base. The rare element is the panel above the fluting, which is more a Louis XIV or Regence motif.
Origin
19th century, France
