Black Bolection mantel with acroterion (Reference 1327)
Elegant Bolection mantel with acroterion in the Louis XIV style from the 19th century. This mantel presents a large rounded molding typical of the Bolection mantel. The crowing pediment adorned with fluting and acanthus leaves on the corners is an Antique architectural ornament, named acroterion. A beautiful and subtle series of moldings gives relief to the composition, which is set against a marble backdrop that magnifies its presence. The mantel’s pure sober design aligned with the black French marble creates a very dignified and imposing piece. The cast iron lattice design insert with its molded frame echo the classical design of the mantel. Includes the iron curtain.
Origin
