Sold item - White marble Louis XVI mantel (Reference 1342)
Louis XVI style mantel in semi-statuary marble from the 19th century, with a palette of pure Antique architectural lines. The straight jambs are slightly tapered fluted pilasters, with deep regular flutes, filleted below. The entablature presents a finely recessed molded rectangular frame and the heads are adorned with square rosettes in relief. The decoration and choice of marble is typical of the Louis XVI style. The iron insert is delicately decorated with laurel, flowers, bows and ribbons.
