Louis XVI style surround (Reference 1347)
Louis XVI style Carrara marble mantel with pilasters from the 19th century. The jambs are slightly tapered with a décor of pilasters with regular and deep fluting and rods rising a third way up. The center of the frieze and the jamb heads are equally adorned with filleted flutes, and recessed panels in between. The use of antique architecture elements, like fluting and pilasters, along with the harmonious straight lined harmonious design are typical of the Louis XVI style.
