Louis XVI style white marble mantel (Reference 1369)
Beautiful white veined Carrara mantel with oak leaf decor in the Louis XVI style from the 19th century. The oak leaves drops down over the top of the scrolled jambs that rise up from end block with two deep grooves on either side of a chain of pearls. Above, the frieze is richly decorated with Louis XVI motifs, a long rectangular recessed panel bursting at the center with a pair of oak branches attached by a ribbon and reaching out across the entablature. On either side high relief square rosettes top the jambs. There are brass air vents on either side.
This mantel comes with its original finely modeled cast iron insert adorned with interlaced rose branches gathered together with a ribbon and a two tone marble hearth floor.
