Louis XV period mantel piece in Breche d'Alep marble (Reference 1395)
Beautiful Louis XV period mantel from the 18th century in Breche d’Alep marble. Prolonging the elegantly rounded hearth opening, the slightly curved jambs rise up to scrolls adorned with acanthus leaves, supporting a richly adorned architrave. At its center a large carved shell flanked with bell flowers echoes the shells above the jambs. The molded shelf curves along the lines of the mantel. The symmetry of the shells and flowers is the sign this mantel is Louis XV Rococo. Its marble front hearth floor is included.
