Walnut bedroom set comprising a bed, a mirrored armoire, and a nightstand, crafted by Louis Malard. The ensemble is made of solid walnut and features finely carved decoration throughout.
The bed includes a tall headboard crowned by a carved seated female figure, and a curved footboard adorned with low-relief motifs such as cartouches, foliage, and urns. The armoire is flanked by two niches containing fully sculpted figures of children, and is topped with a similarly carved pediment. The nightstand is topped with an openwork panel carved with scrolls and a central urn motif.
Each piece demonstrates a meticulous attention to sculptural detail and architectural composition, characteristic of late 19th-century craftsmanship. Inscribed in the wood: "L. MALARD".
