Entirely constructed out of stone, this main door for a Chapel is a brilliant example of the Neo-Gothic style, popular in the middle of the 19th century, under the influence of Viollet-le-duc. The side posts are semi-detached columns rising up to capitals decorated with foliage that support a Romanesque arch adorned with square rosettes. This arch serves as a frame to the Typanum decorated with Fleurs-de-lys and a central monogram. The words “Here is the house of God and the door to Paradise” are carved in latin on the entablature below.
This is largely inspired by Medieval art particularly Romanesque art, although the Neo-Gothic movement tended to mix different Medieval styles adapting them to the times of the 19th century, people were still very inclined towards the dreams and auras of religious romantics.
All the pieces will be dismantled for the transport and numbered. A sketch with the numbered stones and the right place of each stone will be available. Inside dimensions are approx: height: 228 centimeters ( 90') , width 161 cm ( 63')
