This gable from a basque house dates back to the 16th century. The Basque house, called etche, was a structure based on timber framing, as certified by this gable. The timber was clearly visible outside and the space between the trusses and braces was filled with pebbles. Two windows with latticework are placed on either side of the central post. It is very rare today to see a house from before the 16th century in the Basque region, which makes this gable such an exceptional find.
