This beautiful Louis XV style antique firescreen with curved frame in gilded bronze was made in the 19th century. Seated on foliated vegetal scrolls, Cupid brandishes his bow. Such firescreens were sold by Charles Mannheim in 1892 : for example a firescreen « decorated with foliage » and another with « attributes of love », mentionned in the sale Catalogue d'un beau mobilier époques et styles Renaissance et XVIIIe siècle..., bronzes d'art et d'ameublement..., pendules Louis XIV et Louis XV..., tentures, tapisseries... / [expert] A.
