This fireback features iconography relating to the French Revolution. An Allegory of France is supported on a tablet on which is inscribed "Declaration of Human Rights, Article V". She is holding a lance from which hangs a Phrygian bonnet. A cockerel struts proudly on top of a low column just behind her.
