This exceptional antique Napoleon III style fireplace was made out of a beautiful Black from Belgium marble and a Red Griotte marble. Large, this fireplace is composed of a black marble frieze inlaid with rectangular panels made out of Red Griotte marble. The center of the frieze is ornated with a gilt bronze cartridge with palmettes. The ends of the frieze are decorated with beautiful gilt bronze chimeras heads finely chiseled. The windings jambs are carved with shells and leaves which are covered with gold leaf.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor marble floor but these one could be made to order.
