Beautiful Empire style mantel made in semi-statuary Carrara marble in the 19th century. Its jambs are canted, the corners are adorned with semi-columns carved in high relief. The front is sober in design but bears an elegant décor of curlicue foliage carved in very low relief set against a hammered background.
