Exceptional antique Louis XV style mantel richly carved in the 19th century in Carrara marble. The jambs are adorned with acanthus leaves, palmettes and volutes. The swirling shelf rests on a serpentine entablature, adorned with a large richly ornamented and finely worked shell framed by large acanthus leaves and leafy flower stems.
This mantel is sold with a modern cast iron interior adapted to this mantel but without the hearth floor. This one can be made upon request (depending on the availability of the marble).
