This large antique fireplace is striking due to its carved decor. Made out of Carrara marble during the 19th century, this Louis XV style fireplace is elaborately decorated. A large foliaged and flowered shell decorates the centre of the entablature. The flowers, all different from one another, are finely carved in very high relief, stand out against the background. The jambs, made up of curves and counter-curves, are equally the product of superb carving work. A reversed shell falls from a curve at the top, and from it falls fine and delicate flowers. The sides of this fireplace are patinated.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor marble floor but these one could be made to order.
