This fireplace is quite exceptional and unique. Realized in the second half of the 19th century, this mantel is made out of white Carrara marble. Napoleon III style, the jambs of the fireplace are adorned with caryatids (See caryatid ) made out of gilded bronze and brown patina bronze. The polychrome patinas is very characteristic of the era of Napoleon III. The two women, bare chest, support fleshy flower garlands.
The center of the frieze is decorated with a wide foliaged shell made of gilded bronze.
Along the top there is an ovals gilded bronze frieze also.
The sides of this fireplace are paneled.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor marble floor but could be made to order.
