Louis XV style mantel of the "three shells" type, carved in Carrara marble in the second half of the 19th century. The entablature is adorned in the centre with a large shell on a background of stylized scrollwork. The jambs surmounted by shells are slightly curved in the shape of a console. A molding ending in scrolls underlines the hearth opening.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
