This luxurious mantel from the second half of the 19th century is exceptional in size and quality of marble. Its ornamentation is inspired by the art of the Renaissance.
The straight pilaster jambs are adorned with a string of bell shaped acanthus leaves dropping from a shell shaped ornament. Above are square rosettes on either side of the entablature. At the center of the frieze, the same scrolled shell motif is repeated three times in a framed protruding cartouche, flanked on either side by recessed panels with decorative clips.

The marble used is a magnificent Breche from Serravezza in the Carrara region in Italy.
The insert is copper and is covered with ermine marks and has its original iron curtain. The marble hearth floor is available.
