This exceptional and monumental neo-renaissance style fireplace is extremely rare. Sculpted in a very beautiful Noir de Belgique marble during the 19th century, the carved decor of this fireplace brings a rare sophistication. The tapered jambs are decorated at the top with delicately carved satyre heads in high relief, and from them escapes turned over bell-flowers. Crowning the jambs, ionic curved jambs, support a quarter round frieze carved with pearls of acanthus leaves which spill over the sides of the fireplace.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor marble floor.
