The elegance of this 19th century Louis XIV style mantel is highlighted by the bright brick red Languedoc marble.
This type of model first appeared during the reign of Louis XIII and continued during his son's Louis XIV reign. Known as the Bolection mantel characterized by a large round molding running along the frame of the hearth opening.
