In good condition. The frieze, with an accident, has been restored.
This large Louis XV style fireplace was made out of a rare Noir de Belgique marble during the 19th century. The carved decor of this fireplace is very rare. The centre of the entablature features a large foliaged shell. The curved jambs are decorated with reversed shells towards the top, whilst the bottom is decorated with a large curved acanthus leaf.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor marble floor.
