Exquisite large mohogany mantel from the nineteenth century. The trumeau is surmounted on a ridged cornice. Like the jambs, the two side pillars of the overmantel are decorated with carved scrolled corbels adorned with oak leaves and festoons. The thick jambs support an entablature with rectangular recessed diamond shaped molded panels. The center of the entablature is decorated with a low relief panel decorated with a scalloped garland. Proof of the delicate work of the fireplace/ even the sides of the consoles are carved in low-relief with vegetal features.
