This Neo-Gothic style fireplace was built in the 19th century.
In carved walnut , it consists in a large hood recalling the first chimneys of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance (see overmantel ), reviewed and corrected by the 19th century. Supported by columns, the entablature is broad and carved with three coats of arms alternating with fine carvings of motifs borrowed from Gothic style architecture, trilobed lancets and foliage. The hood is designed to recall the architecture of the Gothic churches, with pinnacles and a balustrade carved with interlacing.
This fireplace comes with its original cast iron insert and its complete cast iron hearth.
