Bolection red marble mantel in the Louis XIV style from the 19th century. The general shape is rectangular however the inside frame is "Bolection", meaning a large rounded molding running up the jambs and across the entablature with curved corners. The secondary moldings and spandrels in relief complete this sober and elegant decor of this mantel.
