Very refined mantel carved in a beautiful white marble, in a lush Louis XV style with a wealth of sculpture. The corbel shaped jambs are adored with discreet volutes and a panel décor and rise to scrolled heads garnished with upside down shells. The third shell in the center of the entablature gives its name to this type of mantel, the “three shell mantel”. It rests between volutes and molded panels. A thick round molding underlines the curves of the hearth opening, running down to the plinths. A very classical Rococo mantel, with curves and counter curves and a rare elegance.
