Sold item - Carved oak fireplace mantel (Reference 0998)

Napoleon III period oak fireplace mantel in carved wood with ionic columns on the jambs decorated with cascades of leaves and fruit, a frieze of leaves and fruit withheld with ribbons runs across the entablature. The top originally had a mirror. Its base can be taken off if desired to make a flat shelf.

Good condition. Someone started sanding down the mantel shelf (see picture 9).
