Carved in the 18th century, this mantel is an expression of the refinement of the Louis XIV period. The frieze of entablature is a delicate guilloche, the white veins give extra relief to the sculpture. The straight filleted fluted jambs are flush with the heads. The marble is very similar to the Red of Rance.
The sides were added in the 20th century.
