Description

Elegant stained glass windows each representing a bird in a refined Japanese style decor. A bird spreads its wings rising from a bamboo branch above a small pond full of water plants and dragonflies with far away clouds hovering behind. A heron with a green frog in its beak stands in a similar decor with lily pads, far away clouds and herons in flight. Here the enameling technique uses delicate colors that are particularly transparent.
This graceful piece of work is typical of the picturesque Japanese style that became very popular and was used almost systematically after 1878, both in France and England.
