This beautiful mantel carved in white Carrara marble is dated 1830. The jambs, deeply curved and scrolled above and below, display a very original silhouette. Fluted, they are lined by a trompe l'oeil rope frieze. The straight front of the entablature, adorned with a rare central motif of oak branches and acorns, is flanked at either end by heads carved with rosettes. The hearth opening presents a succession of frames with cut angles, creating a very distinguished decor.
