Antoine Budker and his work is a real
discovery.
Antoine Budker was born on the 1st of February,
in Châlons-sur-Saône and died in Mâcon April
18th, 1903 at the grand old age of 81. He was an
amateur virtuoso marquetry maker. This passion
probably came from his father, Jean-Frédéric
Budker, a well known cabinet maker in
Châlons-sur-Saône. The World’s Fair was in 1855
but it seems that Antoine Budker continued to
develop his interest in the arts till his death.
Indeed, one of the signatures on his death
certificate belonged to Claude Geoffray, a
sculptor, mentioned as a friend.
